Using Your Hot Tub During Corona Virus

Lots of folks have been asking about using their hot tub in Canada during this pandemic. I'll try to address those questions. First, I'd like to mention that while properly balanced hot tub water is safe, we recommend only using your hot tub with members of your household to keep up with best social distancing practices.

According to the US Center for Disease Control "There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19."

Hot tubs can be a great way to relax during a stressful time. Just make sure you keep your bromine or chlorine levels up and your water will be safe. Test strips are a great way to check on your water chemistry. Also, try to follow other best practices such making sure you have clean filters. With all that extra free time at home, it might be a good time for a water change as well.
